Shelly Marie Hosman, 53, passed away June 01, 2025, in Santa Rosa, New Mexico. She was born on October 21, 1971, in Pawnee Rock, to Leon N. and Brenda Sue (Hazen) Hosman.
A resident of Lubbock, Texas, Shelly was a truck driver for White Transport. Prior to her career, Shelly proudly served the country as a member of the United States Navy. When she wasn't at work, she enjoyed time in the great outdoors and with wildlife, including on her ground in Billings, Montana, and dancing.
Survivors include her mother, Sue Johnson and loving companion Jerry Welch of Great Bend; partner, Tom Thurmond of Lubbock, Texas; sister, Tammy Sue Jennings and husband Phil of Belpre; nephews, Casey Carson and Kylan Carson; great nephew, Weston Carson; and uncle and aunt Kenneth R. and Nancy Hazen of Mission, Texas.
She is preceded in death by her father; and grandparents, Bernard "Buck" and Catherine Hazen.
Funeral service will be at 10:00 a.m. Friday, June 13, 2025, at Hillcrest Memorial Park, with Pastor Daniel Vandenburg presiding and military honors presented by the United States Navy. Memorials have been designated to Shelly Hosman Expense Fund, in care of Bryant Funeral Home, 1425 Patton Rd., Great Bend, KS 67530.
