Shelva Jean Hendrickson, 86, of Middletown, DE, passed away peacefully on May 26, 2025.
She was born on April 23, 1939, in Christiana, DE to the late Edward and Mary Laws. She attended and graduated from Newark High School in 1957.
The most important occupation Shelva had was being a mom, later in life she worked for Quest Diagnostics, working as a phlebotomist for 20 years. Shelva was a lifetime member of Ladies Auxiliary, Christiana Fire Co., and served as assistant treasurer.
Shelva loved spending time with her family & friends, traveling, reading, and working on crossword puzzles.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and brother, Kenneth Laws.
Shelva is survived by her loving husband of 69 years, Robert O. Hendrickson, children, Edward O. Hendrickson (Pam) of Milton, DE, Robert W. Hendrickson (Tina) of Fairhill, MD, Carla Perna (Paul) of Middletown, grandchildren, Caitlin (Sammy), Taylor, Chelsea, Alexa, and Connor, a great- grandson Julian, and brother, Harry Laws.
A visitation for family and friends will be held from 10-1130 am on Monday, June 9th at Daniels & Hutchison Funeral Home, 212 N. Broad St., Middletown, DE, where a funeral service will begin at 11:30 am. Interment will be privately held at the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Bear, DE.
