On September 4th, 2025 the Lord entrusted us with the precious gift of our son, Shepherd Maxwell Hipp. Though his time on earth was brief his life was full of love, purpose, and the presence of God. Shepherd entered the world at 12:33, was held tenderly by his parents and family, and was carried peacefully into the arms of Jesus.
Shepherd’s name reflects the truth of Psalm 23 that “The Lord is my Shepherd.” In his short life, he reminded us of the Lord’s nearness, faithfulness, and perfect love. Though we long for the lifetime we dreamed of with him, we rejoice that Shepherd knows no pain or sorrow, only the fullness of God’s eternal joy.
Shepherd is deeply loved and forever remembered by his parents, Taylor and Savannah Hipp, his big brother Brooks, his grandparents Joey and Shelia Evans, Michael and Sharon Hipp, Great Grandparents- Randy and Roselinda Maxwell, aunts and uncles: Brandon and Krystal Casey, Matt Casey, Andrew and Laureen Hinton, cousins: Cole, Colt, Colby, and Aida Casey; Abram, John Michael, and Camden Hinton Kalynn and Kinsley Flemming, and a host of family and friends.
Shepherd was met in eternity by a host of great grandparents; Tom and Gloria Dickens, Billy and Paula Hipp, and Melvin and Merrylon Evans.
His life, though brief, is a testimony of God’s goodness, and he will always remain a part of our hearts and our story.
A private service will be held to celebrate Shepherd’s life. We rest in the promise that one day, we will be reunited with him in glory.
We would like to say a special thank you to Dr. Wilson, Brandi, Lindsey, Meredith, Tracey, Jackie, and all the staff at TWC and St. Francis for their kindness and compassionate care and for truly going above and beyond for our family during this hard time.
“The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.” – Psalm 34:18
