Sheriadan Duty 'Sherry' Walton

Sheriadan Duty "Sherry" Walton, age 86, of Roland, passed away on Thursday, July 31, 2025. The family will hold a memorial service to honor Sherry's life at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 5, 2025, at Hanson Baptist Church in the Sallisaw Central community. Cremation is under the direction of Agent Mallory Martin Funeral Service, Inc.
Born on Oct. 29, 1938, in Gore, Sherry was the second of six children born to Eula Marie (Mullen) Goodman and Hershel Lee Bloomer. She grew up in a loving small-town environment, filled with warmth and community. Sherry married at a young age and devoted her life to raising her family, cherishing her children and their loved ones. She found joy in her simple, fulfilling life within the small town of Sallisaw, where she created lasting friendships and wonderful memories, ultimately surrounded by her cherished family as she concluded her journey.
Sherry is survived by her daughters, Cheryl Tompson of Fort Smith, Ark., and Angela Duty of Sallisaw; her sons, Ricky Lee Duty and Nicole of Sallisaw and Mark Duty and Mindy of Akins; as well as seven grandchildren, Melissa, Felicia, Jaymee, Derrick, Dillon, Christopher and Timber. She is further remembered by her two sisters, Barbara Anson of Akins and Shaunda Johnson of Tahlequah.
Throughout her life, Sherry was deeply loved by her family, including many nieces, nephews, and a multitude of friends, all of whom will cherish the memories created with her.
Sherry was preceded in death by her daughter, Debra Coker; her son, James Michael Duty; her parents; one granddaughter, Andrea Coker; and her son-in-law, Rick Thompson.
Honorary pallbearers will include Tensley Means, Payton Stump, Dillon Duty, Terry King, Ricky Morris, Dale Sisco and Christopher Bibb.
Sherry Duty Walton's legacy of love and strength will continue to resonate in the hearts of many. She will be dearly missed but forever remembered.
