Sherill Dean Mullins, age 93, of Granville, passed away on Wednesday, August 20, 2025 at Licking Memorial Hospital. Sherill, fondly known as “Moon”, was born July 8, 1932 in Robinson, Illinois to the late Vernus D. and Eva (Price) Mullins.
Moon was a veteran of the United States Army and faithfully served his country primarily in Germany during the Korean War. He received a Bachelor’s degree in Education from Eastern Illinois University in Charleston, Illinois. Moon retired from the Owens Corning Tech Center where he was Manager of Licensee and Affiliate Services of the International Division.
Moon and his wife enjoyed wintering in Destin, Florida for 26 years. He also enjoyed woodworking and making wine and beer.
He is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Irene Ann (Joshu) Mullins, whom he married June 25, 1960; daughter and son-in-law, Theresa and Gil Hall of Cherry Hill, New Jersey; granddaughter, Jillian (Matt) Doll; and great-grandchildren, Crosby and Archer; a sister, Eva Hall of Morton, Illinois; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three sisters, Carolyn Hunstad, Eloise Latshaw, and Janet Mullins.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, the ASPCA, or to NPR.
A private graveside inurnment will take place in Maple Grove Cemetery, Granville.
