Sherlene Allen Baker passed away on March 23, 2024 peacefully in her home at the age of 83. Sherlene was born on February 11, 1941 to Shirl R. Allen and Vertice Terry Smith in Salt Lake City, Utah. She married Robert Carlyle Baker on November 25, 1959. Sherlene was the longest tenured employee at the Utah State Supreme Court. She loved music and loved singing in various choirs over the years.
She led the music in church for about 30 years over several callings. She loved to sew and crochet. She was also the world's best solitaire player. She will be truly missed by her family and friends.
Sherlene is survived by her husband Robert C. Baker; her children Cathy Baker, Allen R. Baker, Brad Baker, and Amy Baker; and her 13 Grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.
Sherlene is preceded in death by her parents Shirl R. Allen, & Vertice T. Smith; stepfather Gideon Achter, sister Renee Beck Smith; brother Bruce Achter, half-sister Catherine Achter; daughter Jessica Dimmick and grandchildren Sarah Kelley, Anthony Day, and Ashley Dimmick.
Services will be held on Friday, March 29, 2024 located at the LDS Church building on 2695 East 7000 South, Cottonwood Heights, Utah with a viewing starting at 12:00pm and a funeral service at 1:00pm.
Interment and dedication of the grave will be at Memorial Mountain View Cemetery following funeral services.
