GARDINER - Sherman Perley Lee, 80, of Gardiner, Maine, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 20, 2025, at MaineHealth – Maine Medical Center, in Portland.

Sherman was born on December 10, 1944, in Livermore, ME, to the late Clyde and Elsie (Gordon) Lee. A dedicated family man and respected businessman, Sherman's life was marked by hard work, joy, and a deep love for his family.

Sherman was a proud veteran who served three years in the Army which included one year in Thailand during the Vietnam conflict. He was a skilled carpenter and spent much of his life working in the building trade. He established Lee Garage Door Company in 1981. His hard work and dedication earned him a well-deserved reputation for quality and service.

Sherman is survived by his beloved wife of 48 years, Hilda Lee, who he cherished dearly. During these years they built not only their business but also a life filled with love and happiness.

He is also survived by his sons Scott Lee, Mark Brown (Shelby), Kevin Brown (Diana), daughter Julie Hallett, sisters Ellen and Carolyn (Harold), brothers Clayton (Pat) and Roger, and grandchildren Jason (Sarah), Christopher (Bethany), Nicole, and Logan, as well as great grandson Benjamin.

Services will take place on Wednesday, August 27, at 2:00pm, at the Committal Shelter at Central Maine Veteran's Memorial Cemetery, 143 Blue Star Avenue in Augusta, Maine.
