WHITEFIELD – Kevin M. Swift, 56, AKA Kevin Peanut Maurice Dinkweed Swift of Whitefield died unexpectedly at home on Saturday, August 23, 2025.

He was born in Augusta, Maine on June 3, 1969, the son of Brian and Nancy (Copage) Swift.

Kevin had many nicknames which included: Peanut, Dinkweed, the Old Guy, Old Man, Grumpy Grandpa, our grandfather called him Jake - that's a story between those two!

Kevin was a lover of the outdoors and loved doing things with his kids and grandkids. He enjoyed working alongside dad cutting and yarding wood. He was a natural and could operate just about any equipment. Dad said, "he's a good little operator…..".

Kevin taught his boys how to be men and how to do a little bit of everything. He enjoyed teaching his kids and grandkids karate, going for walks in the woods or through the blueberry fields, splitting wood, RC cars, playing Pac-man and wrestling with Braylen, watching westerns and nature shows with the grands, watching deer with his night- vision goggles, and riding his ATV.

He was predeceased by his sister Linda M. Swift.

Kevin is survived by his parents, Brian and Nancy Swift, of Whitefield. His partner Dianna Lerette of Gardiner; their kids: Tommy, Kevin and partner AJ, Justin and wife Jessica, Tasha. Grandkids: Lilliana, Bentley, Braylen, Adlynn, Arianna, Brianna, Mason. Siblings: Brian and wife Deborah, Carol and partner Thomas, Kenneth, Richard and wife Pamela, Nancy Lynn and partner Richard. Also survived by many nieces and nephews, cousins, aunts/ uncles and relatives from Canada.

A gathering will be held at Calvary Bible Baptist Church, Route 126, 150 Grand Army Road, Whitefield, Maine from 4-6 pm on Thursday, August 28th.

Arrangements and guidance are in the care of Staples Funeral Home and Cremation Care, 53 Brunswick Avenue, Gardiner, Maine.
