Sherman Mason Obituary

Sherman attended EJ Hayes High School and later retired from the Department of Transportation for the State of Connecticut in 2015. He dedicated many years of his life to serving the community through his work.
Sherman Mason will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all those whose lives he touched. His legacy of kindness and laughter will live on in the hearts of those who knew him.
Sherman is survived by his son, Richard Mason; stepchildren, Matthew Maebry and Katherine Maebry; sisters, Jean Washington and Vanessa Williams; brothers, Ray Mason, JohnAlvin Mason, Melvin Mason, and Kelvin Mason; and a host of grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. He was preceded in death by his spouse, Claudette Mason; father, Ralph Mason; mother, Nossie Lee Mason; and brothers, Jimmie Mason and Ralph Mason, Jr.
A memorial in honor of Sherman Mason will be held on Friday, September 22, 2023 from 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM at Howard K. Hill Funeral Services, 1287 Chapel St, New Haven, CT 06511. To leave a message of comfort for the Mason family, please visit, www.hkhfuneraslervices.com

I was Sherman´s supervisor when he was temporary worker and I taught him how to do all the jobs with DOT . He worked so good as a temporary worker I suggested that they hire him . When he finally got hired i kept him with me so i could show him even more then when temp. Sherman was taught how to operate a pay loader then was taught how to operate a street sweeper. Sherman was a pleasure to have working for me . He never refused any overtime when I call him out for Snow work . I send my Condolences to his entire family and so sorry that I just heard he passed away today. I would´ve appeared at the wake.Again My Condolences .
