Sherri Moody

Sherri Lynn (Spencer) Moody, 72, of Scottsburg Indiana, passed away March 3 2023 at Baptist Health Floyd in New Albany Indiana. She was born December 16 1950 in Indianapolis Indiana to the late Emil Spencer and the late Ollie Stanley Spencer. On March 2 1974 she married Dennis Lee Moody who preceded her in death. Sherri was a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witness her entire life. She was an accomplished portrait artist specializing in charcoal and pencil portraits and was well known around Scottsburg for her portraits. She had a wonderful sense of humor and loved to tease anyone with love; she loved her family-especially fiercely loved her grandbabies. A feisty, strong willed, independent woman, she was also kind and passionate. Sherri was a very accomplished seamstress making clothes for her daughters through their early years of growing up as well as loving to quilt. Sherri love being outdoors, loved gardening, nature, and hiking.
Survivors to cherish her memory are daughters Melody McDill & husband Scott of Scottsburg and Kimberly "Bug" Tyner & husband Mike of Charlotte NC; a nephew whom she loved as a son Ethan Spencer & wife Erin of Greenwood IN; grandchildren Connor McDill, Oliver McDill, and Cora June Tyner; sisters Trina Arthur of Indianapolis IN, Leah Spencer of Scottsburg IN and Lynn Blay of Scottsburg IN. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.
The family will hold a Celebration of Life service, 4pm, Friday, March 10 2023 at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witness,1270 Westwood Dr., Scottsburg IN 47170.
