Sherrill Redovian Obituary

REDOVIAN, Sherrill

Sherrill VanNatta Redovian, 81, passed away on February 15, 2025, in Roswell, Georgia. Born on January 4, 1944, in Fremont, Ohio, Sherrill lived a life defined by love, strength, and generosity.

She was the daughter of Charles and Mary Ellen VanNatta, and grew up in Fremont, where she graduated from St. Joseph High School as part of the Class of 1962. On July 31, 1965, she married James Michael Redovian, beginning a nearly 60-year journey together filled with devotion and family. They built their home in Dunwoody, Georgia, where they raised six children and created a lifetime of cherished memories.

Sherrill's greatest joy was her family. She is survived by her husband, Jim; her son-in-law, Chris Hughes; her children, Jim Redovian Jr. (Angie), Lorie Davis (John), Dan Redovian (Christy), and Alex Redovian (Golsa); her 12 grandchildren, Cameron Redovian (Carolina), Katie Redovian Dye, Jimmy Redovian III (Palmer), Annie Redovian Penzien (Carter), Anna Hughes Helms (Walker), Charlie Redovian, Sam Redovian (Ángela), Clay Davis, Callie Davis, Max Hughes, Katie Davis, and Naami Redovian; and four great-grandchildren, Bode Dye, Winnie Dye, Hutson Penzien, and Harlowe Penzien. Each of them will forever carry the warmth of her love in their hearts.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Buck VanNatta; her daughter, Kelly Redovian Hughes; and her son, Timothy John Redovian.

Sherrill's life was marked by an unwavering spirit and an open heart. She was a devoted wife who stood steadfastly beside her husband through life's joys and challenges. As a mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, she provided boundless love and support to each generation of her family. Her friendships were deep and enduring—built on trust, kindness, and an ever-present willingness to give of herself to those she cared about.

A Celebration of Life service will be held on March 8, 2025, at 11:00 AM, at Dunwoody Baptist Church in Dunwoody, Georgia (1445 Mt. Vernon Rd). A reception will follow immediately after the service.

Sherrill's legacy is one of love that knew no bounds—a life well-lived and deeply cherished by all who had the privilege of knowing her. May her memory bring comfort to those who mourn her passing while inspiring them to carry forward the kindness she so freely gave.

Dear Jim and family,
Sherrill came to my mind and put her name on my laptop.
Jim and I extend our deepest sympathy to you. Fondly remember our few years of being neighbors on Wainstead Drive. Very sad to have read her obituary. She is with Kelly, Tim and her parents/brother. God comfort all of you. Ginger

Sherrill contacted me via email when I tragically lost my 17 year old daughter, 15 years ago. We´ve never met. I was hurting. She comforted me because she too had lost a child. She brought me out of a dark place. We shared emotions and she was so helpful to me. She continued to reach to make sure I was alright. Beautiful person she is. Thank you Ms Sherrill.

Sherrill´s passing breaks my heart. She came into my family when my dad married Ann Pickle. Sherrill was always so kind to me and interested in me and my family. I appreciated that she was so down to earth and real! We could talk about anything. Sherrill, I will miss you so very much.

We met Sherrill when our daughter auditioned for the Tim Redovian Scholarship to help pay for her summer studies at the Boston School of Music. Sherrill had such a joyous spirit, and a kindness and empathy towards others-I saw this the minute we met her. We never lost touch since that day, she always wanted to know how our daughter, FaithAnn, was doing, and where she was in her journey of life. It was if as though our daughter had become one of her children extended through that scholarship. Our conversations will forever be held dearly in my heart. Through the loss of her child she gained so many children that are now touching others through the Arts everywhere. Quite the Legacy and labor of Love-We can only hope that we too daily can carry such a light and love to those around us. She will be greatlyt missed. Our deepest condolences to the family-God Gained and Amazing One and the Heavens are rejoicing.
