Sherry L. Jones, 76, of Manassas, Virginia passed away on December 20, 2023. Sherry was born in Ohio to the late Ralph and Grace Brandon on May 14, 1947. She attended Flushing High School from which she graduated in 1965. Following her graduation, she went to work for the FBI in Washington, D.C., later transferring to the Department of Commerce. She stayed with the Department of Commerce until her retirement in 1995. In her retirement, her hobbies included scrolling on Pinterest, line dancing, stamping, stained glass, and floral arrangements. She also enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, going to the beach, and going shopping. The greatest joys in her life were her two granddaughters and her great-granddaughter - they brought love and laughter to her heart. Family was very important to her, and she held a special place in her heart for all of her nieces and nephews, as well as their children. Sherry never met a stranger.
Sherry leaves behind her loving and devoted husband of 55 years, Donald Jones, her children, Carrie Bright (John) and Brian Jones, and her brothers, Bruce Brandon (Paula) and Roger Shepherd (Sandra). She also leaves her two granddaughters, Alyssa Bright Miller (Adam) and Paige Bright, as well as great-granddaughter, Cailin Miller.
The family will receive guests from 7 pm to 9 pm Wednesday, December 27, 2023 at Mountcastle Turch Funeral Home, 4143 Dale Blvd., Dale City, VA 22193.
An additional viewing and funeral service will be held at Wilson Funeral Home in Bethesda, Ohio on Friday, December 29, 2023. The viewing is to be held from 11 am to 1 pm, and the funeral beginning at 1 pm.
