Sherry Willene Moore Ali, age 70, of Electra, Texas, passed away peacefully Saturday morning, March 7, 2026, in Electra Healthcare Center.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, March 9, 2026, at Bible Baptist Church of Electra, with Rev. Terry Hickman, Pastor of Bible Baptist Church, officiating. Interment will follow in Electra Memorial Park under the direction of Aulds Funeral Home of Electra.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Sunday, March 8, 2026 at Aulds Funeral Home of Electra.
Sherry was born March 4, 1956 in Corsicana, Texas, to James Earl Moore and Peggy Mildred Cook Moore.
She was a 1974 graduate of Electra High School, where she graduated with honors as Salutatorian of her class and played Tennis. Sherry also enjoyed playing Acoustic guitar with her dad.
She and Syed Arif Ali were married January 15, 1975 in Canyon, Texas. They enjoyed many years of traveling the world together and with their three children. She even spent two years living in Saudi Arabia for Syed’s work.
Throughout her life, Sherry was a homemaker and spent the majority of her time raising her family. She was a loving mother to her three children. Sherry was a very strong woman and was known as the disciplinarian of the house. She was very verbal and you never had to wonder what she was thinking.
Sherry loved working in her garden and flowerbeds, playing bingo each week at the healthcare center and listening to Patsy Cline, especially “Walkin’ After Midnight”. She was also a lover of snacking, always with a supply of Peanut Butter M&Ms, cheesecake and cashews.
Survivors include two daughters, Surayya Ali of Texas City, Texas and Shauna Yousef of Clarkston, Michigan; one son, Syed Asif Ali and wife, Dora of League City, Texas; her mother, Peggy Moore of Electra; one sister, Terry Stevens and husband, Edwin of Iowa Park; one brother, Darrell Moore and wife, Nora of Electra; thirteen grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father, James Earl Moore; her husband, Syed Arif Ali; her grandparents, Allan and Mildred Carr and Ed and Agnes Moore; one sister, Tracy Parish; one brother, Leland Moore; and one great-nephew, Tanner Alaniz.
The family suggests memorials to Solaris Hospice, 2405 Kemp Blvd., Suite A, Wichita Falls, Texas 76309.
