Sherry Elaine Schappell, 69, of Dover, passed away peacefully Thursday, July 17, 2025, at UPMC West Shore Hospital. Born on September 10, 1955, in Loysville, PA, she was the daughter of the late Robert Reisinger and Cleo Bernice (Weller) Keener.

Sherry attended West Perry High School and worked as a pharmaceutical coordinator for local nursing homes. She was a member of the VFW Post 7530 in Mechanicsburg and enjoyed spending time with friends at the American Legion Post 974 in New Cumberland. A free spirit with a love of nature, she found peace in horseback riding and beach trips-especially to her favorite place, Assateague Island.

Above all, Sherry treasured her family. She found immense joy in spending time with her children and grandchildren, and she adored her dog, Rogue, who was her constant companion.

She will be remembered for her warm heart, adventurous spirit, and the unconditional love she gave to her family and friends.

Sherry leaves behind her daughter, Mystery Schappell; her son, Michael Schappell; her grandchildren, Chase and Travis; her great-grandchildren, Chloe, Legend, Lyric, and Braden; her brother, Brion Reisinger; and her sister, Tracy Keener.

Per her wishes, there will be no services.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in her honor are asked to be sent to a horse rescue charity of your choice.
