Sherry Willis Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by James H. Davis Funeral Home and Crematory - Owensboro on Feb. 23, 2026.
Sherry Lynn Richards Willis was born on June 4, 1965 in Owensboro, Kentucky to Warren Arthur Richards and Linda Lou Myers Richards. Sherry passed away with her family by her side at her home in Okeechobee, Florida on February 11, 2026. She graduated from Apollo High School in 1983 and worked as a paralegal and postal rural carrier until becoming a full-time keeper at home in 2003. Sherry was Messianic, believing the whole Bible and aiming to obey it. Her love for the Heavenly Father and Messiah was great, as was her joy and shalom. She was known for her laugh, cheerful smile, and sound advice. Sherry enjoyed home-making, natural healthy living, the beach, chocolate, and much more. Her life can be summed up by Proverbs 31:26, 29: "She shall open her mouth with wisdom, and on her tongue is the Torah of loving-commitment. Many daughters have done nobly, but you have risen over them all."

Sherry was preceded in death by her father, Warren Richards.

She is survived by her husband of 24 blessed years, McArthur "Mickey" Shelton Willis Jr.; daughter, Ava Chloe Willis; mother, Linda Richards; and many friends and relatives.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 26, 2026 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Panther Creek Baptist Church Life Center 7146 US Hwy 431, Owensboro, KY 42301. Sherry will be laid to rest at Elmwood Cemetery of Owensboro, KY until the amazing resurrection day. Care entrusted to James H. Davis Funeral Home of Owensboro, KY.
