Sheryl Diann (Peacock) Berry passed away peacefully on October 3, 2024, after a yearlong battle with pancreatic cancer.
Sheryl was born in Nebraska City, NE, in 1955 to Arlene and George Peacock. They moved to St. Louis, MO when Sheryl was eight. They were a close-knit group who enjoyed spending time with their extended family. Whether it was enjoying a family dinner featuring any type of red meat, vacationing at the lake, or listening to records, happy memories were being made.
Sheryl and her sister Tarra were best friends. From childhood to attending the University of Missouri, if you saw Sheryl, Tarra would most likely be close behind.
One evening in 1974, while attending the University of Missouri at a dorm-sponsored party, Sheryl first met Gabe. This chance encounter led to a stroll across campus to the local McDonalds where they shared a chocolate shake and fries. Sheryl and Gabe had an instant connection, and the conversation just flowed. Sheryl and Gabe were later married in St. Louis in 1978.
After they married, Sheryl and Gabe moved to Plano, TX, to be closer to Arlene and George and start a family. Sheryl was a beloved wife and mother. She was a boy mom through and through, having two sons, Ryan and Sean, who each had two sons, Henry (8), Ben (5) and Oliver (3), Remy (10 months). She shared her lifelong love of sports with all her boys and enjoyed going to see them play little league baseball just as much as watching the pros. Last year, she was able to share the Texas Rangers winning the World Series with all her boys by her side, the memory of which will last a lifetime.
Sheryl loved her family with her whole heart. She was patient and kind. Her love and dedication to her family sparkled in her eyes and she was never too busy to watch a game or take a call. Sheryl was someone you could truly count on to be there for you anytime, no matter what.
Sheryl was so loved and will be deeply missed. She is survived by her husband Gabe, sons Ryan and Sean, daughters-in-law Cathy and Nikole, grandchildren Henry, Ben, Oliver and Remy, and sister Tarra.
A memorial service will be held for Sheryl at Custer Road United Methodist Church - 6601 Custer Road, Plano, TX, on October 18, 2024, at 2 p.m.
