Shirley L.C. Aguilera (Savage) 71 of Gloversville, NY passed away on Sunday, August 17, surrounded by her loving family. She suffered significant injuries resulting from an automobile accident. Family and friends are devastated that the life of such a kind, caring and generous soul was taken so unexpectedly.

Shirley was born on November 9, 1953, in Amsterdam, NY. The beloved daughter of the late Alan and Thelma (Russell) Savage, she attended Johnstown High School and later married her high school sweetheart Timothy N. Aguilera.

Shirley was a supportive wife, a devoted mother and grandmother, a thoughtful friend, and a wonderful sister. She considered her greatest achievement in life to be her children and grandchildren. She loved them all unconditionally. Shirley was a proud member of the Gloversville Common Council and a Fulton County Supervisor as well as a board member of Cornel Corporate Extension and Office of the Aging Advisory Committee. However, her life's goal was caring for others. Consequently, after raising her family, she attended college and earned her nursing degree alongside her daughters. Shirley was a pillar of strength and support for all that knew her. She was someone who made people laugh and smile in admiration. She will be loved and missed always but never forgotten.

Shirley was survived by her children Charles, Charity, Clinton (Nicole), Clayton (Katie), and Crystal. Her brothers Delbert (Sally) Ralph (Sue), Allen (Diane), Sisters Thelma Chamberlain, Linda Vandeusen, and her twin sister Sheila L.C Savage as well as Hellen Henry, whom she considered a sister, her grandchildren, David Heise III, Jacob, Owen, and Liam Humphrey, Travis Krokowski, Nevaeh and Skyler Aguilera, Evan, Aria, and Colton Aguilera, Savannah, Hunter, and Ryder Hart, and Colin and Elliot Aguilera; as well as several nieces, nephews, & cousins.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband Timothy Aguilera, daughter Carolyn Aguilera, Granddaughter Caylyn Aguilera, and brothers David Savage, Phillip Savage, and Paul Savage.

A memorial service will be held on Thursday August 21,2025 at 1:00 PM at the Johnstown Church of Christ, 107 Stoller Rd, Johnstown, NY 12095.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Shirley's memory may be made to the American Heart Association, (https://www.heart.org/), PO Box 840692, Dallas, TX 75284-0692, Johnstown Church of Christ, 107 Stoller Rd, Johnstown, NY 12095 or the American SIDS Institute, 528 Raven Way, Naples, Florida 34110 (https://www.sids.org/ways-to-help/donate/).
