Shirley Ann Bacon, 75 years old, of Sadler, TX, passed away Thursday, December 26, 2024.
Shirley was born on August 27, 1949, in McKinney, TX. She was the daughter of Vernon Lee and Beulah Fay (Chastain) Mitchell.
She was married to Jerry Daniel Bacon Sr. on December 23, 2002, in Gainesville, TX. She graduated from Princeton High School.
Shirley worked as a Kitchen Supervisor, Jailer, and Coordinator at the Cook County Sheriff's Department until her retirement.
She was a member of Sadler Baptist Church.
Shirley loved camping, fishing, game nights, dancing, and most of all, Family Time.
She was the glue that held the family together, the woman anyone could turn to, the person who loved unconditionally. She loved wholeheartedly her children and grandchildren. Above all, she was a woman who worshiped the Lord.
Shirley was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry, mother and father, Vernon and Beulah, a daughter, Sylvia, and sisters, Linda, Betty, and Reda.
Survivors are daughter and son-in-law, Carla Turner and Billy Buckaloo of Sadler, TX, grandson, Justin Turner of Clovis, CA, granddaughter, Karlie Buckaloo of Sadler; son and daughter-in-law, John and Heather Taylor of Crandall, TX, grandson, Bransen Taylor of Kaufman, TX, granddaughter, Raegan Taylor of Princeton, TX, grandson, Zachary Taylor of Crandall; a granddaughter and grandson in law, Shelby and Jacob Miller of Ammon, ID, and Trinity Thomas of Sadler; Nine great-grandchildren; and her significant other, Norman Lake of Sadler, and family.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 pm, Tuesday, January 7th, at Waldo Funeral Home.
A funeral service will be held at 2 pm, Wednesday, January 8th, in the Waldo Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be held immediately following the service at Mount Tabor Cemetery.
Rev. Rick Carney will officiate.
