Shirley Ann (Hitchens) Brewer, age 83, passed away unexpectedly Tuesday evening, August 12, 2025, at her son, Michael Brewer, home in Pataskala, Ohio.
She married Eugene P. (Sonny) Brewer on September 6, 1958, and graduated from Grove City High School in 1960. She worked in nursing at University Hospital and later worked for Western Electric – Lucent Technologies for thirty-five- and one-half years. After her retirement she worked for DHL (EXEL) for nine years. She loved and enjoyed her family, friends, and co-workers.
She and Sonny loved traveling, riding motorcycles, boating and fishing, on their boat the Shirley Ann, basketball bus trips to Cleveland and cruises. She was blessed to be a part of a wonderful church family.
She is preceded in death by her beloved Sonny, her parents Harley and Catherine Hitchens, brothers, Elmer, Melvin, Don, and Robert, and sister Dosena Cathcart. She leaves to cherish her memory, sons Michael Eugene Brewer and Philip Darnell Jennings, loving brother, Douglas (Ramona) Hitchens, Sisters, Willa McGee and Delores Winn, Sister-in-law, Becky Crawford, Grandchildren, many nieces, nephew, cousin's, other relatives, neighbors, and many, many friends.
