Shirley Faye Copeland

Shirley Copeland, 81, of Whatley passed away at her home on May 3, 2024, with her family by her side. She was born December 19, 1942, to parents Grover and Lethel Brunson Pugh. Shirley was a beautician and enjoyed the friendships she gained from her clients. Shirley and Elray owned Twin Pines Stable where they raised, bred, and showed with great pride many racking and walking horses. She loved to bake, gardening, and growing flowers around her yard. Mrs. Copeland was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, caregiver, and had much love for those around her. She loved God and served faithfully from a young age, a member of Bassetts Creek Baptist Church and spent time recently attending Amity Baptist Church, she loved her Christian music and enjoyed teaching Sunday School.

Shirley is survived by her daughters, Sandra Garner and Linda (Dale) Goodman; grandchildren, Lee Ramsey, Jonathan Ramsey, Brandi (Tony) Stacey, Brittany (Brandon) Garrick, and Lacey Ramsey; great grandchildren, Brooke (Nick) Alexander, Cheyannah Ramsey, Theron Stacey, Destiny Crutchfield, Hunter Stacey, Hailey Crutchfield, Alyssa Crutchfield, Aaron Barbour, Reece Garrick, Tanner Herring and Lucas Stacey; great-great grandchildren Jayden Alexander, Paisley Alexander and Riley Alexander.

She was preceded in death by her husband Elray Copeland, parents Grover and Lethel Pugh, siblings Lavon Pugh, Warrene Baugh, and Bennie Pugh.

A special thanks to the Southern Care Hospice employees, Abby, Jessica, Taylor, Corwren, Courtney, Rusty, Emily, Susie, and Bro. Russell Wright.

Pallbearers will be Troy Pugh, Vince Hamilton, Jonathan Ramsey, Tony Pugh, David Sheffield, Todd Pugh, and Lee Ramsey.

Funeral Services will be at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, May 8, 2024, at Amity Baptist Church with a visitation one hour prior to services. Bro. Craig Weaver officiating and Lathan Funeral Home directing. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
