Shirley A. Delp, of Carlisle, passed away April 22, 2024 at UPMC Harrisburg Hospital with her loving family by her side at the age of 85. Born in Carlisle, she was the daughter of the late John Snyder and Tressie (Keck) Snyder. She was the loving wife of Merle E. Delp.
Shirley attended Faith Chapel in Carlisle, and her faith and family were her prized possessions. She was the owner of the former Shirley’s Dress Shop in Carlisle and was an avid gardener.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her son Daniel (wife Leanna) and daughter Sherry (husband Darryl); sisters Patsy Shover, Judy Hershey (husband William), and Sandy Snyder (husband Tom) along with a step-sister Patricia Myers. Grandchildren Michael (wife Abbie), Shelley (husband Brad), Rachel (husband Austin), Benjamin (wife Brianna), Nathan (fiancé Jessi), Christina (husband John) and great-grandchildren Carissa, Jeremiah, Trevor, Shaylee, Emmalyn, Weston, and Brady also survive her.
In addition to her parents, Shirley was preceded in death by her stepmother Genevieve “Jenny” Snyder, her brother John “Jack” Snyder, and sisters Carolyn Bender, Margaret “Peggy” Bridge, JoAnne “Jo” Swartz, and Eileen Heberlig.
Services will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday, April 29 at Hoffman Funeral & Cremation, Ltd., 2020 W. Trindle Road, Carlisle, PA with the Rev. Michael Mayer officiating. A viewing will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be sent in Shirley's memory to Faith Chapel, 1543 Holly Pike, Carlisle, PA 17015. Interment will follow in Cumberland Valley Memorial Gardens, Carlisle.
