Shirley Dollinger Obituary
April 21, 1953 – June 14, 2025
Shirley Dollinger, 72, of Watertown, New York, passed away peacefully on June 14, 2025, at Samaritan Summit Village in Watertown, New York.
Born on April 21, 1953, Shirley was a kind and loving soul who touched the lives of everyone she met. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, James Dollinger; her parents, Betty and Paul Swem; and her sister, Linda Scott.
Shirley is survived by her devoted children: daughter Tonya Goodale of Philadelphia, NY; son Nathan Goodale and his wife Crystal of Charlottesville, VA; and daughter Kylie Graham and her husband Shawn of Philadelphia, NY. She was a proud and loving grandmother to Dylan Goodale (and his companion Amber Wager), Drake Graham, Draelyn Graham, and Justine Tysco, and a great-grandmother to Ailaet, Alfonse, and Brandan.
She is also survived by her sister Debbie Ross and her husband Jeff of Florida, her brother-in-law John Scott, as well as many cherished nieces and nephews.
Shirley dedicated many years of her life working as a housekeeper at EJ Noble Hospital in Gouverneur, NY, and also at Venus Swimwear in Dexter, NY. She was known for her strong work ethic, warmth, and kindness.
Outside of work, Shirley's greatest joy was her family. She loved camping, fishing, cooking, canning, and gardening. Holidays were especially meaningful to her-Easter being her favorite-and she always made them extra special for her loved ones. Her greatest happiness came from spending time with her family, friends, and especially her grandchildren, who were the light of her life.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, July 19, 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Philadelphia Firehall in Philadelphia, NY. Please bring a dish to pass as we gather to share a meal and honor Shirley's beautiful memory.
Shirley will be remembered for her warm heart, strong spirit, and the love she gave so freely. She will be deeply missed and forever cherished.
