Shirley June Duvall went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on August 20, 2022 at the age of 84 years, 2months and 1 day. Shirley was born June 19,1938 in Atoka, Oklahoma to Opal Juanita Cook. She was Opal s oldest child, they lived with her Grandma and Grandpa Cook she called them Momma and Poppa and her Momma she called her, Opal. Later on, she had six siblings that she helped in raising with her Momma. They may have had to struggle in life, but they were a close family that loved each other more than anything else. She met the love of her life in High School in McAlester, Oklahoma and they married at 17 on August 27,1955. They were married 57 years at James death in 2013. In 1956 they had their first child Cheryl Lea. They moved to Fredrick, Oklahoma in 1957 where their second child Rhonda Ranae was born in 1959. In 1963 they moved to Oklahoma City, Oklahoma where their last child Kent Alan was born in 1965.
Shirley was a worker, she was a carhop, worked at CR Anthony s, Sears and many other things, but in 1966 she got her Hairdresser license and began an almost 50-year career doing hair for a multitude of people that many have remained friends. In 1995 just before their oldest Granddaughter Christa Robin graduated High School she went and earned her GED. At 62 years old she went to work at Southwest Airlines as a reservationist and worked there for almost 10 years until she had a cancer on her vocal cord that caused her to retire. She always continued doing hair along the way until her memory was failing her and she had to retire in 2021 from doing what she really loved doing. Shirley and James had an adventurous life, they loved to travel and always took their children and grandchildren and great grandchildren on many of the trips they took. She had three children, seven grandchildren and seven great grandchildren at her death that loved and adored her always and she loved them more than anything in life.
Shirley was preceded in death by her husband James, mother Opal, grandpa & grandma Cook, youngest sister Loretta Crum, daughter Rhonda Thompson. Some Nieces and Nephews, Brother-in-Laws, and Sister-in-Laws. She is survived by daughter Cheryl and Dexter Eisenman of OKC, son Kent Duvall of OKC, Son-in-Law Randy Thompson of OKC. Grandchildren Christa and Keith Morgan of Jacktown, OK, Stacy and Rich Wright of Alvin, TX, Chad and Taylir Thompson of Mustang, OK, Marla and Gene O Fallon of Tulsa, Ok, Stockton Duvall of College Station, TX, Wyatt Duvall of Houston, TX, and Grace Duvall of Edmond, OK. Great grandchildren Austin Morgan of Yukon, OK, Chelsea Morgan and her fianc Cail Williams of Stillwater OK, Caiden Cure, Huxley & Stryker Peters of Alvin, TX, Andi & Gentri Thompson of Mustang, OK. Sister Jimmie (Mary) & Gary Dicken, Sister Anna Ruth & Bill Turner, Brother Wendell Hawkins all of OKC, Brother John Wayne Hawkins of Drumright, OK, Sister Punkin (Linnie) & Steve Wilson of Yukon, OK, and Brother-in-Law Mike Crum of Edmond, OK. Sister-in-Laws Barbara Duvall & Jonnie Duvall of McAlester, OK. Many Nieces and Nephews and cousins.
