Shirley J. Dykes, 70 of Lexington, SC passed away Monday, September 25, 2023 in Columbia, SC. She was born Saturday, February 21, 1953 in Tylertown, MS.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 28, 2023 from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at Capps Funeral Home, 270 Old Hwy 98 E, Tylertown, Mississippi. Visitation will also be held Friday, September 29, 2023 from 9:00 AM until funeral service at 11:00 AM at Capps Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Hillcrest Memorial Gardens. Brother Randall Garcia will officiate. Capps Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Shirley lived for her babies and cherished every moment! The happiest faces her family have seen on their mother's face has been over the last 3 years.
She was preceded in death by her father, Clyde Jenkins; mother, Kathleen Fairburn Jenkins; grandchildren, Mikalah Polk and Kailyn Polk; and special uncle Bud Jenkins.
Survivors include her husband, James Dykes; son, James Madison Burton; daughters, Vicky Lynn Shady (Shawn), Lindsay Daureen Faloney (James), and Jordin Lindsey Dykes; stepchildren April Williams (Sam) and Brittany Dykes; grandchildren, Samantha Charlton (Austin), Krista Nelms (Christopher), Abbagail Faloney, Tristan Tucker (Courtney), Logan Burton, Ella Burton, Cameron Haught, Christionna Faloney, Kaleb Williams, and Larrel Polk; great grandchildren, Cooper Charlton and Bodie Charlton, brothers, Clyde Jenkins, Jr. (Tess) and Robert Jenkins (Connie); sisters, Brenda Johnson (Jimmy), Patricia Woodward (Stanley), Joann Thomas (Ted), Dianne Hilton, and Kathy Boyd (Dell); along with a host of nieces, nephews, friends, and loving family.
Pallbearers will be Tristan Tucker, Austin Charlton, Jason Jenkins, Troy Barber, Brad Dunaway, and Sam Thomas.
