Shirley Frost Obituary
Shirley Jean Frost, 89, of Alden, passed away at home in her bed on September 5, 2025. She was born on May 6, 1936, in Newberry, the daughter of Leonard and Vera (Brooks) Vargason.
Shirley loved crocheting and quilting; she would generously share her creations with her family and friends. Along with this, she enjoyed diamond painting, bowling, and spending time with her family.
Shirley is survived by her daughter, Theresa (Gary) Hurd, daughter-in-law, Debbie Frost, four sisters, Phyliss Sanders, Margaret (Joe) Frame, Connie (Jimmy) Stevenson, Donna Kellaway, four grandchildren, Matthew (Alisha) Hurd, Michael (Laura) Hurd, Nicole (Ron) Love, Courtney (Brian) Majszak, and eleven great-grandchildren.
Preceding her in death are her parents, husband Donald, son Richard Frost, two sisters, Clarice Tompkins and Wanda Delay, brothers-in-law, Jerry Sanders, Ron Kellaway, Gary Tompkins, Russell Frost and Lyle Frost, sisters-in-law, Marie Marcoux, Irene Frost, and Mary Harmon.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, September 14, from 3 to 4 pm at the Calvary Baptist Church in Kalkaska. A Funeral Service will be held at 4pm, with a meal to follow.
