Shirley Jean was born the daughter of Richard W. and Audrey Jean (Frakes) Adkins on May 28, 1950 in Carrollton, MO. Shirley enjoyed crocheting, doing puzzles, and playing bingo. She loved to read a good western book, but her favorite books were Harlequin Romance books. Shirley loved spending time with her family and having get to gathers.
Shirley is survived by her five children, Tammy Lawson and husband Russell of Chillicothe, MO; Bill Loucks and wife Sara of Brookfield, MO; Loretta Murphy of Blue Springs, MO; Steven Loucks and wife Natalie of Chillicothe, MO; and Jason Goff of Chillicothe, MO; twelve grandchildren, sixteen great grandchildren, one sister Janet Sandbothe of Sedalia, MO; one nephew, one niece, and one great niece.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Richard and Audrey Adkins.
Visitation will be held at Rhodes Funeral Home, Brookfield, MO; Friday, April 7, 2023, starting at 1:00 pm until 3:00 pm. with the family receiving friends at that time. Services are under the direction of Rhodes Funeral Home, Brookfield, MO.
Memorial contributions are suggested to Bladder Cancer Awareness, make checks payable to Bladder Cancer Advocacy Network, and can be left at or mailed to Rhodes Funeral Home, 216 Linn Street, Brookfield, MO. 64628. Online condolences can be made www.rhodesfh.com
