Shirley Ann Thompson Grantham, 80, passed away Tuesday, January 21, 2020 at St. Dominic Hospital in Jackson. Visitation is 11 am-1pm Friday, January 24, 2020 at Ott and Lee Funeral Home in Brandon. Services are 2 pm Friday at Park Place Baptist Church with burial in Floral Hills Memory Gardens in Pearl. Dr. Keith Grubbs will officiate.
Mrs. Grantham was a native and lifelong resident of Rankin County. She was a charter member of Sunshine Baptist Church which is now Park Place Baptist Church and was a dedicated member of the Claudine Heard Sunday School Class for many years. She retired from Southern Farm Bureau Life Insurance Company as an Underwriter after 40 years of service in 1998 and loved working in her yard, camping and skiing.
Survivors include her husband of 60 years, Bill Grantham of Brandon; son, Mike Grantham of Brandon; sister, Lavelle Robertson of Pearl; grandchildren, Dodge Grantham of California and Phoebe Grantham of Idaho. Mrs. Grantham was preceded in death by her brothers, Benjamin Thompson and John Thompson; sisters, Gwen Holloway and Carolyn Wade.
Pallbearers are Rusty Alexander, Dr. Bob Wilkerson, Jeff Wilkerson, Steve Ming, Billy Collett and Tyler Collett. Honorary pallbearers are Tommy McClendon, Virgil Luke, Denny Blaylock, Danny Collins, Bud Reid and Robert Hoyt.
