Shirley Ann Hamilton, 92, of Lee's Summit, Missouri, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on August 9, 2025. Born April 22, 1933, in DeKalb County, Indiana (Town of Hamilton), she was the daughter of Harold and Alice (Ridge) Newcomer.

After graduating from Hamilton High School, Shirley moved to Phoenix, Arizona, where she met David A. Hamilton, who was training at Williams Air Force Base. Following their marriage, Shirley proudly joined the ranks of USAF Officers' wives, traveling extensively as Dave pursued his career as a fighter pilot.

The couple welcomed three children and in 1968 purchased a home in Belton, Missouri, where they settled permanently after Dave's retirement from the Air Force in 1974. Shirley was an active member of the Belton community for over 50 years, serving as a Cub Scout Den Mother and later building a successful career as an Avon representative.

Shirley was an avid gardener, bird watcher, and baker who enjoyed family gatherings. She maintained her commitment to physical fitness throughout her life. In 2019, Shirley and Dave moved to Lee's Summit. After Dave's passing in 2020, she continued to forge new friendships while cherishing time with her expanding family.

Shirley was preceded in death by her husband Dave and sisters Lois Johnson (Reynold) and Barb Taylor (Jim). She is survived by her brother Dale Newcomer (Karen); children Denise Ayers (Maurice), Gregory Hamilton (Lisa), and Rick Hamilton (Sheila); five grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, brother-in-law Steve Hamilton and family, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Services for Shirley will be Friday, August 22 in the Wesley Chapel at Church of the Resurrection, 13720 Roe Ave, Leawood, KS. Visitation will be at 1 PM, funeral service at 2 PM. She will be buried in Longview Cemetery, 12700 Raytown Rd, Kansas City MO, next to her dearly beloved husband. The funeral service will be live-streamed at COR.org/memorialsonline
