Shirley Hogan Obituary

Shirley was born on July 7, 1925 in Providence to Milton and Myrtle (McDonough) MacDuff. Raised in both Johnston and Cranston, she graduated from Mt. Pleasant High School in 1943.
In 1945, Shirley went on to work as the receptionist for Hinckley Allen law firm where she met her future husband, Thomas J. Hogan, Sr. Esq. They married in 1952 and in 1953 moved from Providence to Warwick where they raised their two children. They spent many happy years at their summer home in St. Martins, New Brunswick, Canada and at The Dunes Club.
She is survived by her son, Thomas J. Hogan, Jr. (Cynthia Peloso) of East Greenwich, her daughter, Eileen L. Hogan of West Warwick, her granddaughter, Lauren (Hogan) Bishop of Vista, CA, several nieces and nephews, great nieces and great nephews, cousins, and her longtime caregiver, Susana "Susie" Ipanaque who took such loving care of her.
She was predeceased by her husband of forty-nine years, her sister Nita M. Leach and her daughter-in-law Kathryn F. (McKenna) Hogan.
Her Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, January 2, 2024 at 11:00AM at THE URQUHART-MURPHY FUNERAL HOME, 800 Greenwich Avenue, Warwick. Visitation will be held prior to the service from 10:00AM-11:00AM. Interment will take place at Pawtuxet Memorial Park in Warwick.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to: HopeHealth Hospice & Palliative Care, 1085 North Main Street, Providence, RI 02904.

Dear Eileen and Tom,
I just heard from the office just now that you Mom has passed away, I am so sorry for your loss. She is at peace now and reunited with your Dad. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. God Bless you all.

I met Shirley (and Nita) a number of years ago through the MacDuff Clan Society. We uncovered a distant relationship due to our common Prince Edward Island ancestry. I regret that we lost touch in recent years. I offer my sympathy to you in the loss of a beautiful person.
