Shirley Jahn Obituary

Visit the Trujillo Family Funeral Home website to view the full obituary.

Shirley J. Jahn joined our Heavenly Father in her eternal resting place on September 29, 2025, at the age of 79. Shirley was born January 17, 1946, in Albuquerque, NM. She is preceded in death by her parents, four siblings, grandson, and great-grandson.

Shirley is survived by her sister Susie, her beloved children Gina, Aneka (Alan), Karen (Marcus), and Aaron (Alethea), 10 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, and countless additional family members and friends.

A devoted mother, Shirley served 25 years with the Albuquerque Police Department as a 911 Operator to support her children. Being a true example of service to others and to God, she was also a Girl Scout leader and Catechism teacher for many years.

Her devotion to God was exemplary; she taught the Word to all those around her not only through direct advice and lessons, but most importantly in the way she lived - she was selfless, kind, loyal, and her home and heart were always open. She made everyone feel like a part of her family.

Shirley loved playing cards, cherished animals, and filled her home with music. Her family especially loved hearing her sing and watching her dance. She truly believed life was a gift from God, and she lived each moment to its fullest. She could be heard cheering at her grandkids’ school events, laughing at family gatherings, or opening her home during every holiday celebration.

In her quiet moments, Shirley could be found in her kitchen praying, admiring her roses, waiting for the rain and watching the birds she loved so much. In her more rambunctious moments, she might surprise you with a witty comment that left everyone laughing. Her endearing mispronunciations earned her the affectionate nickname of “Maronaise”

There are not enough words to describe what Shirley was to those who knew her. Her passing has left an irreplaceable gap in our lives, yet she would want us to be reassured that we will see her again in Heaven.

As much as Shirley meant to all of us, she was everything to her children. In their words…

“We owe all that we have to her; she made it all possible. We will never be able to thank her enough. Her beautiful smile and heart will be so greatly missed. Thank you to everyone who was a part of her life and loved her.”

Services are to be held October 9, 2025, from 11am-1pm at Trujillo’s Family Funeral Home. Burial to follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
