Feliciano "Chano De Manzano" Nunez, age 67, passed away on September 10, 2025, in Manzano, New Mexico. Born on April 2, 1958, in Mountainair, New Mexico, Chano lived a life rooted in faith, family, and hard work.
Chano was the last student to be enrolled at the old school in Manzano, ‘‘this is where he got his passion for reading. A proud graduate of Mountainair High School’s Class of 1976. Chano went on to attend the University of New Mexico. He later pursued specialized training through the Ironworkers Local 495 apprenticeship program. It was through this path that he found his calling as an ironworker—a profession he not only excelled in but truly loved. His dedication to his craft was evident to all who worked alongside him.
Chano believed deeply in God and found strength and peace through his relationship with Him and the teachings of the Catholic Church. His faith was a guiding force throughout his life.
He is lovingly remembered by his wife, Angela Nunez; his children: Juan S. Nunez and his children Ezaiah, Aayana, Elena, Esperanza, and Felicie; Arianna Moon and her husband Hunter and their daughters Amelia Q., Myla and Jade; Santiago Nunez and his fiancée Miranda Bencomo and their daughter Keighlani. Chano’s memory also lives on through his siblings: Juan Salomon Nunez, Elena Nunez, and Roy Nunez; as well as many cherished nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his beloved son Abraham Nunez; his parents Desideria and Salomon Nunez; siblings Melecio Nunez, Antonio Nunez, Dorothy Perez, Marcella Serna, Gabriel Serna, Billy Serna, Ramon Serna, Rita Nunez-Marez; and in-laws Alfonso and Helen Lopez.
Chano will be remembered for his caring nature, deep love for those around him, sense of humor that could light up any room, and a passion for music that brought joy to many.
May the memory of Feliciano "Chano De Manzano" Nunez bring comfort to all who knew him. A Funeral will be held on October 7, 2025, at 10:00 AM at Nuestra Senora de Los Dolores Catholic Church, Manzano, NM. Rosary to precede funeral mass.
