Shirley Johnson Obituary
Shirley was born June 10th, 1943, in Parkersburg, WV to Frank Thomas and Esther Hanby {Summers} Franklin.
She married Robert B. Johnson on November 18, 1967, who passed away November 23, 1993.
She cooked for the Knox County Jail for 14 years and retired from there. She really enjoyed taking care of everyone. She was a very good cook. Cocoa wheats were a special breakfast. Soup beans, fried taters and pork chops were always good. She loved to ride around and just people watch with her sisters. One time she and Esther were stuck in a car wash.
Shirley will be deeply missed by her children Robert Johnson Jr., John Johnson, and Esther Johnson her seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren, her brother Delbert Summers (Myrte Beach).
Shirley was preceded in death by her stepson Rodney Johnson and five of her siblings.
Friends may call Friday, March 22, 2024, from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m. at Roberts Funeral Home-Mount Vernon Chapel. Funeral services will follow at 3:00 pm at the funeral home. Burial will be at Mount Vernon Memorial Gardens. Online tributes may be made at www.RobertsFuneralHome.com.
