Shirley L. Wheeler, 90 of Zanesville, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 4, 2025, at the Altercare of Zanesville with her loving family by her side.

Shirley was born on February 13, 1935, in Zanesville. She is the daughter of the late Carl W. and Eva M. (Allen) Gebhart. Shirley devoted her life to caring for her home and family, always making sure everything was tidy and everyone was looked after. She was a faithful member of Anchor Church in Zanesville. In her free time, she enjoyed all kinds of arts and crafts, especially weaving on her loom and crocheting. Above all, Shirley cherished the moments she spent with her family.

Shirley is survived by her two children, Theresa (Kevin) Minosky and Jason (Christy) Wheeler; her grandchildren, John (Amanda) Minosky, Jessica Minosky, Jason S. Wheeler, Brianna Ferriman, and Jesse Farmer; her several great-grandchildren; her two sisters, Evelyn Wilson and Julie Gilreath; as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends.

In addition to her parents, Shirley is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Raymond Wheeler, whom she married on February 10, 1962, and who passed away on January 20, 2005; her daughter, Carmen Wheeler, who passed away on September 16, 2001; her siblings, Ruby Ethell, Eleanor Black, Lavone Marple, Janet Smith, Esther Fields, Doris Godwin, Herman Gebhart, Dewey Gebhart, Jerry Gebhart, and Edwin Gebhart.

The family would like to give a special thanks to John Pittman and Debbie the receptionist at Altercare for their compassion and kindness towards Shirley.

Visitations will be held from 12 PM to 2 PM on Thursday, November 6, 2025, at the Farus Funeral Home of Duncan Falls. A funeral service will take place at 2 PM following visitations. Reverend Pam Hyden will officiate the service. Shirley will be laid to rest beside Raymond and Carmen in Duncan Falls Cemetery.
