Shirley "Elaine" Lunger, 89, of Lisbon passed away Thursday, March 6, 2025 after a lengthy illness.
She was born in Wellsville, Ohio on September 12, 1935, a daughter of the late John Daniel Watson and Helen Leona (Calhoun) Malone.
She attended the New Waterford High school. She was your friendly Avon lady for many years. She was a member of the Mt. Zion United Methodist Church. She married John Richard Lunger on December 18, 1950. He preceded her in death on December 8, 1994.
Elaine's family was her pride and joy. She is survived by her two sons, Rick Lunger of Lisbon and Jim (Tammy) Lunger of Calcutta, and her daughter, Lisa (Rick) Travis of East Palestine. She is also dearly missed by her grandchildren, John (Debbie) Lunger, Andrea (Travis) Cross, Jamey (Missy) Lunger, Ashley (Nick) McMillin, Jeremy (Ashley) Travis, and Jesse (Erika) Travis. She is also survived by her 14 great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, cousins, step-family, and friends she had adopted along the way. Truly, she was everyone's grandma. She attended every event she could and cheered us all on.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings, John, Daniel, Charles, Donald, Edith, Ruby, Florence, and Mary.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
The Martin Chapel of Care Funeral & Cremation Specialists, in Calcutta, have been entrusted with Elaine's arrangements.
