Shirley J. May Shirley J. May, 77, of Waterbury, passed away on Sunday, May 26th in her home in Moretown surrounded by her family. Born in Montpelier on December 28, 1946, she was the daughter of the late Bertie and Doris (Tatro) May.
Shirley attended Waterbury High School and spent her career as a homemaker, caregiver, loving mother, and grandmother. She loved spending time with her dog Benji. She enjoyed going to Bingo and spending time with her family, watching wrestling, and westerns on TV.
Shirley is survived by her four daughters Michele Bouchard and her husband Tyler Bouchard, Christina Griffith and her partner Adam Lenentine, Joanna Griffith and her husband Troy Ripley, and Tasha Green and her husband Danny Carpenter. She is survived by one sister Joanne McNaulty and Husband Harold of Waterbury Center and one brother Frank May and wife Cathy of Waterbury. Eleven grandchildren Joddie, Ashley, Erin, Skyler, Danny, Taylor, Deven, Trevor, Mark, Brooke, and Owen. She is also survived by her seventeen great-grandchildren as well as two nieces, and extended family members; she was predeceased by her brother James May.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, June 15th at 12pm at the Wesley United Methodist Church in Waterbury, VT. There will be a private inurnment service with the family at Maple Street Cemetery in Waterbury Center directly after. Following the service, there will be a reception at the Fish and Game Club in Waterbury Center at 2pm.
