Shirley Ann Meyer, age 78 of Alvin, Texas, passed away Monday, August 4, 2025 at MD Anderson Center in Houston, Texas. Shirley was born October 12, 1946 in Providence, Rhode Island and had been a resident of Alvin for 58 years. She was dearly loved by her family and friends. Caring and providing for them was truly her passion. Over the years, she had many interests. She and her late husband enjoyed racing Quarter Horses and going to the casino's together to play the slot machines. Shirley loved her getaway trips with her friends, "the girls" as she affectionately called them, playing Bunco and volunteering with the Rotary Club of Alvin. Her favorite pastime would undoubtedly be spending time with her family and spoiling her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She will be dearly missed by all that knew her and loved her and had the opportunity to taste her cooking. Thank you to all who cared and shared their love and support. Shirley is preceded in death by her husband, Jack T. Meyer; mother, Bertha Joseph; father, Harbid Joseph. Shirley is survived by her daughter, Kari Walker and husband Robert; son, Lorne Miller and wife Michelle; step children, Butch Meyer and wife Debbie, Ginger Meyer and husband Derlyn Harrison; brothers, Robert Joseph and wife Patricia Ann, William Joseph; grandchildren, Kinsey Wick and husband Trevor, Jordan Postell and husband Corbin, Seth Miller and Cade Miller; step grandchild, Sydney Baker and husband Jordan; great grandchildren, Levi Postell, Brody Postell, Cullen Wick and Walker Wick; step great grandchildren, Luke Baker and Jack Baker; along with numerous extended family and friends. Visitation will be held from 4:00 PM – 6:00 PM Wednesday, August 13, 2025 at Scott Funeral Home with funeral services beginning at 6:00 PM.
