Shirley was a close friend of mine for over 20 years.
Bridge was both our passion. Shirley was a serious,
avid player. She was a beautiful person inside and
out and had a glow about her and sparkling blue eyes. We all loved her and will miss her. Susan Bauer.

Wes -- So sorry to read that your mother has passed away. What a beautiful photo of her above. I have attached it and the text of the obituary to her profile in my Stanley/Fulp/Swaim Ancestry tree. Its a public tree, so others will be able to read about her devotion to her family, church and community.
While I never met her or your dad, I certainly have been aware of the Kernersville O'Briens for more than a half century. Having been a book collector for most my life, I am particularly thankful for her support of the Kernersville Library.
Coincidently, my wife Jeanie Swaim Stanley lived with her parents and brothers at 109 North Cherry St. in Kernersville (where the pawn shop is now), from April 1964 until we were married two doors down at Cherry St. Methodist Church in March 1966. I soon learned where the Cherry Street "Fulp house" was located.
Finally, my hope is that you will experience what I have since my Mom passed away fifteen years ago -- i.e., "When someone you love becomes a memory, the memory becomes a treasure."
