Shirley Jean Pierce, 87, passed away Saturday, October 25, 2025.

Funeral services will be held at 10 am on Thursday, October 30, 2025, at Celebration Family Church with Pastor Dwight Kirksey officiating. Burial will follow in Memory Gardens in Pampa. The family will receive guests from 5-7 pm on Wednesday, October 29, 2025, at the funeral home. Services are under the direction of Minton Chatwell Funeral Directors of Borger.

Shirley was born July 25, 1938, in Borger, Texas to Walter Brown and Annabelle Stephenson Brown. Shirley was a woman deeply rooted in her faith and her relationship with God. She was an active member of her church, always willing to serve wherever she was needed — from helping in the nursery to supporting every event with her servant’s heart. For many years, her family made up a large part of the church body, and her presence was a cornerstone of that community.

She was married to her beloved husband, George, for 61 years, and was his devoted helpmate through every season of life. She cared for him wholeheartedly, just as she did for her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and even great-great-grandchildren. Her family was truly her world — where she began and where she found her joy.

Shirley was known for her love of cooking and baking, and she poured her heart into every meal she made. Her home was the center of family gatherings and holidays, filled with laughter, games, and the kind of love that’s best shared around a dining table.

Those who knew her also remember her fun side — she had a little wild streak in her younger days and was known to “hot rod” a car or two. George affectionately called her “Hotshot Shirley.” She loved spontaneous adventures, whether it was a last-minute trip or a day of shopping, as long as she was surrounded by her family.

Above all, Shirley’s life was defined by love — for her Lord, for her husband, and for the generations of family she nurtured with joy and grace.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Annabelle Brown; husband, George Pierce; sister, JoAnn Bybee; grandchildren, Kenneth Yarbrough, Derren Pierce; and great granddaughter, Kaitlyn Edgar.

Survivors include her son, Derrell Pierce of Borger; daughters, Sherry Pierce of Borger, Sharon Nowell and husband Johnny of Borger; grandchildren, Christopher Pierce and wife Stacie, Gena O’Dell and husband Bart, Brian Pierce, Karyle Edgar and husband Corby, Katy Wallace, Rachell Nowell, Zach Nowell and wife Jenna; numerous great and great-great grandchildren; and a host of extended family.
