Shirley Ramey

Shirley (Gabel) Ramey, age 84, of Summit Twp., passed away on Sunday, December 5, 2021, at St. Vincent Hospital. She was born in Albion, Pa on April 24, 1937, a daughter of the late John and Mildred (Weber) Gabel.
She was the matriarch of her family. She was the mother of ten children of which two were adopted. She had 23 grandchildren, 43 great grandchildren, and 4 great great grandchildren all of whom she loved dearly. Shirley somehow remembered everyone's birthday and would call and sing happy birthday. In her free time, she enjoyed gardening, canning, and road trips. She also really loved her pets.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Lee Ramey Sr of 48 1/2 years of marriage, and siblings, Agnes Dobransky. Marion, John, Wayne, Maurice, George, and Louis Gabel, son-in-law Jason Kondrat, grandchildren, Ericka Dickey, Philip West Jr and Tiffany West.
Shirley is survived by her companion of 17 years Robert Paterson, children, Deborah Bish, Cheryl Termohlen (David), Randy Ramey, Harold Ramey, Jr. (Barbara), Brian Ramey, Gayle Caldwell (Kirk), Dale Ramey (Shauna Smith), Melanie Kondrat, Victoria Perschka (Josh) and Anthony Ramey (Tiffaney); twenty-three grandchildren, 43 great grandchildren and four great grandchildren. She is also survived by her siblings, Juanita Chamberlin, Dorothy Church, Joan Gabel and Harold Gabel and many nieces and nephews.
Friends are invited to call on Thursday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. at the Brugger Funeral Homes & Crematory, 1595 West 38th Street. A service will be held there on Friday at 9 a.m. followed by burial in Erie County Memorial Gardens.
