Shirley Lumbley Saladino passed away on May 19, 2025, at the age of 97.
Shirley was born January 30, 1928, in New Orleans to the late Ethel Castanedo and Charles Lumbley, Sr. She had a wonderful life. Shirley and Dooney were married for 69 years. They loved their family, being with friends, dancing, and visiting their son in Vegas. Shirley's special days were going out with her daughter Sheryl, spending Fridays with her grandson Ronnie, and playing cards with her friends. Shirley loved her card-playing friends, to her they were family.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Anthony Saladino (Dooney), her daughter, Sandra Saladino Caminita, her sister, Betty Lumbley Lemons, her brother, Charles Lumbley, Jr., and her friend and companion, Albert Baudier. She is survived by her daughter Sheryl Saladino, her son Vic Saladino, nine grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren.
Relatives and friends are invited to visit Greenwood Funeral Home, 5200 Canal Blvd., New Orleans, LA 70124, on Friday, May 30, 2025, starting at 8:30 AM. A Memorial Mass will follow the visitation at 11:00 AM. The burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery.
