Shirley Ann Shah (née Miller), 88, of Spring, Texas, passed away peacefully on August 18, 2025. Born on December 31, 1936, in Louisville, Kentucky, Shirley lived a life marked by intellectual passion, devotion to family, and a love for nurturing both plants and people through her music and creativity.

Shirley grew up in Louisville, where she developed a lifelong love of learning. She graduated from Spalding University with her undergraduate degree and pursued a Master's Degree in Latin at Saint Louis University in St. Louis, Missouri. There, she taught Latin, sharing her passion for language and culture, and met her beloved husband, Anil Shah. After marrying, they returned to Louisville, where Shirley spent most of her life raising her family and cultivating her passions for gardening, cooking, avid reading, and music. In 2016, she moved to Houston to be closer to her son and grandchildren, bringing her warmth and wisdom to their lives.

A faithful member of the Catholic Church, Shirley found strength in her spiritual community, where she shared her musical talents as a dedicated organist. Her green thumb brought beauty to her gardens, her culinary creations delighted family and friends, her love of books enriched her mind and conversations, and her music filled hearts with joy. She will be remembered for her kindness, intellect, and unwavering dedication to those she loved.

Shirley is survived by her brother, Paul Miller, sister, Mary Lou Miller, son, Sanjay Shah (wife Amber), and three cherished grandchildren, Jyoti Shah, Jonathan Shah, and Michael Shah. She was predeceased by her parents, Carl and Mildred Miller, her brother, Gerald Miller, and her husband, Anil Shah.

A funeral service will be held on Monday, August 25, 2025, from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Klein Funeral Home - Champions, 16131 Champion Forest Dr., Klein, TX 77379, followed by a graveside service from 3:30 PM to 4:30 PM at Klein Memorial Park - Spring-Klein, 9714 FM 2920, Tomball, TX 77375.
