Shirley Ethel Sipe

Shirley Ethel Sipe, 85, of Gastonia, NC, passed away on Saturday, October 12, 2024.
Born December 16, 1938, in Kings Mountain, NC, she was the daughter of the late John W Foster and Stella Ethel Foster.
Shirley is survived by her son, William "JR" Wood (wife, Teresa); daughter, Brenda House (husband, Robert); grandson, Joshua Wood; and great grandchildren, Bryson Wood, and Miley Wood.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene Sipe; and her siblings, Dorothy Hullender, Martha Adams, John Foster, Jr., and Betty Berry.
Shirley enjoyed traveling to the beach, mountains, and across the country. She loved to cook and entertain her family. Shirley loved making cakes for her family, friends, and co-workers. She was known as "The Cake Lady" for many years.
She was employed by Wix in Gastonia for 35 years.
Shirley will certainly be missed.
A funeral service officiated by Pastor Dale Lawing will be held 2:00 p.m., Thursday, October 17, 2024, at the South Chapel of Greene Funeral Service - 1503 S. York Rd., Gastonia, NC 28052. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will follow the service at Mountain Rest Cemetery, Kings Mountain.
