Shirley Mae Waldroop, 84, of Franklin, NC, passed away Sunday, July 13, 2025.

Shirley was born in Henderson County NC to the late Carl and Ethel Mae McFalls Tippett. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Wendell Waldroop; son, Keith Waldroop; sister, Joyce Tippett; and brother, William "Dubb" Tippett. She was a lifetime member of Ridgecrest Baptist Church, who loved visits from her grandchildren and beautifying her home with plants and flowers.

She is survived by her sons; Vince Waldroop (Brenda) of Lake Orion, MI and Mitch Waldroop of Franklin; grandchildren, Tabitha Beseau, Ashley Waldroop, Erin Myers, Hunter Waldroop, Miya Waldroop; seven great grandchildren; siblings, Barbara Stanley (Robert), Morris Tippett (Anne), of Franklin, NC; Carl Tippett (Shirley) of LaPort City, IA, Kenneth Tippett of North Branch, MI; and several nieces and nephews

The family will receive friends Friday, August 8th, from 1-2pm at Ridgecrest Baptist Church. A celebration of life will be held at 2pm.

In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to Shriners Hospitals for Children or Four Seasons Hospice of Franklin, NC.
