Sidney Richard Hicks, a resident of St.Clair Shores since 1956, died peacefully in his home Sunday morning surrounded by the love of his family. Sidney was 82 years of age.

Sidney was born in Detroit on January 22, 1925, a son of the late Gordon and Anna (Papke) Hicks. He served his country honorably during W.W.II in the U.S.Navy. Sidney was united in marriage to his loving wife, Patricia on June 2, 1951 in Detroit where they made their home until moving to St. Clair Shores in 1956. He was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia on October 16, 1996.

Sidney was a member of the Bruce Post V.F.W. He was co-owner with his brother of the Fraser Tile Company for years and formed his own company Sidney Hicks Tile Co. where he retired from at the age of 62. Sidney enjoyed fishing, gardening, baking, cooking and was an avid card player. He was a very outgoing person who always put the needs of others first. Sidney will always be remembered as a loving and very generous person and will be deeply missed by the many he has touched in his lifetime.

Sidney is survived by his loving children, Cynthia (Frank) Malin, Lori (Jim) Juergens and Marsha (Thomas) Lombardo; his grandchildren, Whitney (Jeff) Robinson, Pamela and Robert Juegens; great grandchildren, Ariella, Marisa , Peyton, Ashlynn, Ava and Evan and his brother Russell. He was preceded in death by sisters, Virginia Obreast and Dorothy Mendenhall and his loving wife, Patricia.

A celebration of his life will be held at the Vintage House of Fraser, 31816 Utica Rd., Fraser, Saturday, September 8, 2007 at 12noon. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions to the Salvation Army or Seasons Hospice would be appreciated.

Arrangements were entrusted to Faulmann & Walsh Golden Rule Funeral Home, 32814 Utica Rd. Fraser.
