Sidney J. Vignes

Sidney J. Vignes, 83, passed away Sunday, April 6th, 2025 in Edgewood, Kentucky. Sidney was born in New Orleans, Louisiana on March 20th, 1942 to Sidney J. Vignes Jr. and Edna Irene Kaufman Vignes and spent much of his life there. He had a deep love for chess, good food, museums, history, and books. Sidney served in the National Guard from 1960 to 1967. Sidney was a hard worker, earning a Masters in Library and Information Science from the University of Southern Mississippi in 1997 while working full time. Moving to Northern Kentucky afterwards, Sidney retired from the government sector in 2011. Sidney was a dedicated Christian and spent many decades of his life serving the church. He was greatly loved and will be dearly missed.

Sidney is survived by Dianna Vignes, John Armstrong, Melissa Armstrong, Melody Kittle, Autumn Vignes, Nathan Fugate, Isaac Musgrove, Aeden Vignes-Hobbs, and Emmaleigh Vignes. He was preceded in death by Sidney J. Vignes Jr., Edna Irene Kaufman Vignes, Donald Vignes, Edna Irene Vignes, and Sidney Ray Vignes. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Taft Museum of Art in Sidney's name.
