Sierra Rashelle (Bartels) Sumner, age 34 of Stockton Missouri, passed away on August 16, 2025, at the Sunrise Hospital in Las Vegas Nevada with her family by her side.
Sierra was born on June 9, 1991, in Shawnee Kansas, the daughter of Kenneth Bartels and Leah Howell. She attended Belton High School and went on to become a CNA. She loved taking care of people and making them smile during hard times.
Sierra married Clifford Sumner on October 27, 2018. It was the happiest day of her life.
She would have loved to have children of her own, but it wasn't in God's will. Her nieces, nephews and her dogs were her children.
Sierra loved being at the lake from an early age and it didn't matter which one. She was always the first one in the water, usually headfirst because she had tripped over or on something. When she wasn't at work, she was outside loving nature, including riding boats, go-carts, 4 wheelers, and of course swimming.
Sierra absolutely knew she was loved. She made sure everyone in her family knew how much she loved them and cared for them daily.
Taking care of people was her gift, so much so that she was an organ donor, and because of this, lives were saved.
Preceding her in death were nine grandparents (How lucky was she to have nine grandparents) and her cousin Kyle who was like another brother.
Surviving her is her Husband, Clifford Sumner; her father, Kenneth and Renee Bartels; her mother, Leah and Wesley Hiatt; and her in-laws, Charles and Luessa Sumner. She also leaves behind four brothers: Cody Harris, Chris Bartels, Logan Bartels, and Charlie Sumner; three Sisters: Danielle Hiatt, Brittany Hiatt, and Caressa Brian; seven nephews; one niece; two dogs; ten uncles; four aunts; one great grandma; four great aunts; three great uncles; and countless cousins and friends.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the funeral home to help cover funeral costs.
