Smokey O'Conner
Michael Wade "Smokey" O'Conner, age 60, died Wednesday, May 28, 2025, at his home in East Prairie, MO.
Born September 1, 1964, at Charleston, MO, to the late J.D. O'Conner and Dixie Lee Clark Counts and was raised by his mother and stepfather, Kenny Counts. A lifelong resident of East Prairie, he had been employed with the City of East Prairie a number of years.
Surviving are his children, Kendy (Justin) Eberhard and Joshua (Jamie) Nelson all of Sikeston; his grandchildren, Nevaeh Irby, Gracie Jo Irby, Grady Eberhard and Bode Eberhard; his stepfather, Kenny Counts; his brother, Todd Counts; sisters, Nicka O'Conner and Sue O'Conner; also, nieces, nephews and a number of cousins.
In addition to his father and mother, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Brittany Leann O'Conner and his brother, Joe Wayne O'Conner and his lifelong friend, DeWayne.
Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until the funeral hour at noon, Friday, May 30, 2025, at the First Church of God in East Prairie. Bro. Stanley Triplett of East Prairie will officiate.
Interment will follow in the Dogwood Cemetery under the direction of the McMikle Funeral Home of Charleston.
Pallbearers will be Joshua Nelson, Josh Counts, Derric Johnson, Ricky Huff, Braeden Marcum and Charles Wayne Thurman.

I'm so sorry for your loss. Smokey was a good man and loved by so many. I'm so thankful for the loving memories he and I got to make together. Sorry again for ur loss. I will keep the family in my thoughts and prayers.
