Sofia Mendez

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Sofia Mendez, who left us far too soon on July 5, 2025, at the age of 21. Born on December 31, 2003, Sofia was a beloved daughter, sister, cousin, girlfriend, and friend who brought immense light and joy into the lives of all who knew her.
A proud native of San Antonio, Sofia had recently made her home in Austin, Texas. She was in her fourth year at Texas A&M University–San Antonio, diligently working toward her business degree and successfully becoming a licensed real estate agent. A natural leader, Sofia spent eight years as a cheerleader and approached life with energy, grace, and an adventurous spirit.
She found joy in exploring new places, hiking, and simply being outdoors. Above all, she deeply cherished her pets and the time spent with those she loved most.
Sofia will always be remembered for her courageous heart, her boundless compassion, and her remarkable ability to find a solution to any problem. She was a true best friend and a loving sister to her three siblings. Her contagious smile, the happiness she carried, and the radiant light she brought into every room will be deeply missed.
Sofia is survived by her devoted parents, Lorena and Raul Mendez; her three siblings; her extended family; and a wide circle of loving friends who will forever hold her memory close.

Con profunda tristeza anunciamos el fallecimiento de Sofía Méndez, quien nos dejó demasiado pronto el 5 de julio de 2025, a la edad de 21 años. Nacida el 31 de diciembre de 2003, Sofía fue una amada hija, hermana, prima, novia y amiga que trajo una inmensa luz y alegría a las vidas de todos los que la conocieron.
Orgullosa originaria de San Antonio, recientemente había establecido su hogar en Austin, Texas. Cursaba su cuarto año en Texas A&M University–San Antonio, trabajando con dedicación para obtener su título en negocios y logrando con éxito convertirse en agente de bienes raíces con licencia. Líder por naturaleza, Sofía fue por ocho años porrista y enfrentaba la vida con energía, gracia y un espíritu aventurero.
Disfrutaba explorar nuevos lugares, hacer caminatas y simplemente estar al aire libre. Por encima de todo, amaba profundamente a sus mascotas y atesoraba el tiempo con sus seres más queridos.
Sofía será recordada siempre por su valiente corazón, su infinita compasión y su extraordinaria habilidad para encontrar una solución a cualquier problema. Fue una verdadera mejor amiga y una hermana amorosa para sus tres hermanos. Su sonrisa contagiosa, la alegría que irradiaba y la luz que traía a cada lugar serán profundamente extrañadas.
Sofía deja atrás a sus dedicados padres, Lorena y Raúl Méndez; a sus tres hermanos; a su familia extendida; y a un amplio círculo de amigos que siempre llevarán su memoria en el corazón.
