Bernice H.A. Moore was born August 1,1923 in San Antonio, Texas to Arthur & Evelyn Seale. She passed October 27, 2025 at the age of 102. Her friends called her "B" and to her family she was "Aunt E.C."
Bernice graduated from Hot Wells High School in 1941. She was an active participant on both the softball and volleyball teams, and she played the bugle in the Drum & Bugle Corp. as a Scotch Lassie.
In 1942, Bernice began working for Southwestern Bell as a toll operator and worked there for twenty-five years before transferring to AT&T as a Reporter Clerk in the Plant Department. Bernice retired in 1981 after working for 38 years in telecommunications. She was a proud member of Communications Workers of America Local Union #6143.
Bernice married the love of her life, Thomas Owen Moore, on February 3, 1951, at Southside Christian Church. During their 63 years of marriage, they enjoyed dancing, hunting, fishing, spending time together at home, and celebrating holidays with family and friends. Bernice has been a faithful member of Western Hills Christian Church since 1987.
Bernice adored her nieces and nephews, and she always looked forward to family gatherings and celebrations and, of course, the food! Our family motto: We may not have it all together, but together we have it all! Bernice will be remembered for her infectious smile, positive attitude, being an attentive listener, and being your greatest cheerleader.
She is preceded in death by her husband, her parents, sisters (Marie Brown and Ruth Strowd), and nephews (Art Brown, Wayne Brown, Clinton Brown, Terry Brown). Bernice will be greatly missed by her surviving nieces and nephews: Sandra Jandt, Linda Straube, Donnie Strowd, Larry Strowd, and Jerry Strowd; and many great and great-great nieces and nephews.
A Visitation will be held Thursday, November 13, 2025 from 10:00 am - 11:30 am at Mission Park Funeral Chapels North followed by a Chapel Service starting at 11:30. The Funeral Procession will follow to Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery.
