Sol Rudnick passed away on Friday, February 14th, 2025, at the age of 88, in Colorado Springs, Colorado.
He was born in Bronx, New York, on September 29th, 1936, to Leon Rudnick and Edith Rosnell.
He served in the U.S. Army, Special Service Unit, during the time of the Korean War.
He began playing the violin at a young age and spent his formative years training to be a concert violinist. In his 20's, however, he attended a jam session in New Jersey and fell in love with fiddle music. Fiddle music would be a passion he pursued and shared with many throughout his entire life, playing all across the United States and in other countries, including Ireland. He would also go on to win the Arizona State Fiddle Championship in 1975 and 1976.
At the age of 60, Sol converted to Catholicism and dedicated his life to Christ. He then felt called to serve the pro-life ministry and was known as the "Pro-Life Fiddler." He was a true believer that life begins at conception, which would make him 89-years-old when he passed instead of 88.
Sol was an eccentric man, who was unapologetically himself. He enjoyed film photography, travel, inventing and engineering, and scrapbooking photos of his daughter, granddaughters, and great-granddaughters.
Sol lived a fulfilling, joyful, and purposeful life with many accolades. However, he would always say that his greatest accomplishment was his daughter, Debbie, his granddaughters, Sarah and Leah, and his great-granddaughters, Hadley and Millie.
He is survived by his daughter, Debbie King (Michael King), granddaughters Sarah Sims (Jacob Sims) and Leah Miller, and his great-granddaughters, Hadley and Millie Sims.
Please take a moment to remember Sol by listening to a fiddle tune.
